Parenting Coordinator Information

What is a parenting coordinator?

Recently, the Arizona Supreme Court adopted new family court rules that created the position of parenting coordinator. The position can be held by a counselor or qualified attorney, as appointed by the court in a case involving the care and custody of minor children.

Typically, a parenting coordinator is only appointed in cases with substantial conflict between the parents, or some other hindrance to coparenting. The parenting coordinator is available to ensure that court orders are followed, and that communication is proper (not abusive, harassing or counterproductive). The parenting coordinator works with the parties to improve their ability to co-parent, and provides any necessary reports directly to the court for immediate action.

In our office, parenting coordinator services are provided exclusively by Mr. Vaughn.
